Captain's Nautical Supplies, at 111 years old, is the oldest firm of its type in America, founded in 1897, in Seattle, during the Alaska Gold Rush. Captain's is a real, walk-in retail store where browsers are welcome, and questions are gladly answered. We are not a digital entity contracting with a "fulfillment vendor" and a "call center." Real people answer the phone, the first time, during business hours of 8AM to 5:30PM weekdays, and 9AM to 5PM Saturdays, Pacific Time. The store is closed Sundays and major U.S. holidays, but the web site is always open. You don't get an automated attendant or voice messaging. After hours you get a simple answering machine. Captain's is not a bare bones discount house trying to impress you with the lowest price in the universe. The old addage still holds: "You get what you pay for." And "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is." We stick with our specialties rather than going off into things we know little about. So you get knowledgable, reliable, honest service at a fair price. We have in-house repair shops and technicians for many of the products we sell so that we can help you with product problems and offer expertise not available elsewhere. And if we "goof" we won't snow you with a bureaucracy of ineffective buck-passers. We will do everything we can to make things right.
