What about out-of-warranty repairs?
Captain’s has a repair shop staffed with highly experienced technicians to repair most makes of binoculars, telescopes, and optical instruments of all kinds, clocks, barometers, larger marine compasses, and sextants. For many inexpensively made products it is not cost effective for us to make a repair. The repair may cost more than a new item. For repairs of other types of products that we sell, usually the manufacturer is the best source of repair service. We can provide addresses and phone numbers for the various manufacturers. Just call and ask.
Our policy is to give a free, no-obligation price quote before doing any repair. If you say to "go ahead" with the repair, we do the work and the charge will not exceed the quote. We generally guarantee the repair for a year. If you say "no" to the quote, you get the item back at no charge, unless shipping is required to get the item back to you. We generally cannot quote without seeing the instrument and being able to evaluate it's needs.
