Now, finally, a marine clock and barometer designed to withstand the most rugged, exposed, oceangoing environment. The clock is waterproof submerged to a depth of 100 feet. The Barometer includes a unique hydrophobic filter membrane that allows air to pass (to enable sensing air pressure) yet resists water. This filter will easily stop the entrance of water due to continuous spray, and because of its unique construction it is water-resistant immersed to a depth of 3 feet for 30 minutes.
Unlike any other clock or barometer on the market these handsome instruments are built upon a solid cast aluminum case that is glass bead blasted for a low-glare satin finish, color anodized and sealed for unparalleled corrosion, chemical and abrasion resistance. This finish will never peel, bubble, or tarnish in the marine environment. To calibrate the movement you twist the case 1/8 turn, emove the casse, and leave the back plate on the bulkhead. This is a great feature should you want to remove your instruments for anti-theft reasons.
The heavy mineral glass lens sits in a double o-ring seal for vibration, impact, and thermal expansion protection. The Anodized aluminum dial is laser engraved, not printed. There are durable movable markeres made of U.S. stabilized polycarbonate outside the lens for marking time or pressure. The fasteners are stainless steel.
The clock features an accurate quartz movement powered by a AA battery. The barometer movement is a high sensitivity, accurate, all metal aneroid movement with a scale expanded in the 28.5 to 30.5 inch range, rather than the traditonal 27.5 to 31.5 inch range to make movements due to weather changes more apparent. The dial is calibrated in inches and millibars. Both clock and barometer are available with the optional built-in inclinometer which is bluid damped, bright backed, and has a rolling ball indicator.
